Trey Anastasio at Mayo Performing Arts Center 2/8/18
Trey Anastasio began his solo acoustic tour last night in Morristown, NJ at the Mayo Performing Arts Center, treating the crowd mostly to acoustic Phish songs sprinkled with humorous stories and tales from Phish tour while taking some sentimental moments to pay tribute to his sister and also honoring his late friend, Chris Cottrell, who spent much time growing up with Trey and on tour with Phish, times and tales which later became fuel to Trey's songwriting. Anastasio debuted a handful of songs never played acoustically before from the Phish catalog, singing songs he usually doesn't sing, with only one song from the Trey Anastasio Band formation, Push On Til The Day, a usual show-closer for his side-project band. Trey's solo tour continues on for 8 more dates including tonight in Ithaca, NY, then on to Cambridge, Pittsburgh, Wilmington, Washington DC, Durham, Charlotte, and finishes up the solo tour in Athens, GA at The Classic Center.
