New Single from The Funky T, Performing at City Winery 5/7/23

Released today, Philly funk squad, The Funky T, have released their latest single titled Just What I Want, a groovy upbeat tune with bright, soulful vocals and sound. Just What I Want marries vintage boy band vibes with classic pop instrumental prowess to create a modern and funky sound that will get you grooving. Velvet-smooth multilayered vocals deliver an indelible hook straight to your brain, while a tapestry of acoustic & electric guitar lends gorgeous atmosphere and provides small breaks for the inevitable singalong. An ethereal breakdown leads to a dramatic key change through to a triumphant guitar solo, punctuated by effervescent drums and driving bass, then only another taste of the hook before it's all over. Each moment an earworm, never outstaying its welcome, never too much or too little...just what you want.
The Funky T is comprised of Ethan Cain(Guitar/Vocals), Eric Cooper(Bass), Mykk Hoffman(Lead Guitar), and Josh Steingard(drums), and the four also serve as the backing band for local Philly singer-songwriter Emily Drinker. The band looks to release more singles this year and aim to release a full-length album in 2024. The quartet will perform next month at Philly's City Winery in The Loft joining Nick Lombardo and the Decent OK on May 7th.
