New Music from Psychedelic Fusion Quartet Groove Intelligence
Philly-area Psychedelic fusion quartet, Groove Intelligence, are blending elements of funk, jazz, and prog, all over a soulful and hard rocking backbone groove. The band just released their debut album entitled, Barn Burner, in October and threw a successful release show in Center City Philly at TIME to celebrate, with their first single, WHEN, dropping last April. The album was recorded at Retro City Studios and engineered by Joe Baldizar (Ruby the Hatchet, Train) and mastered by Michael Cumming (Trap Rabbit, Ikechi Onyeneka) in 2022. From the start, founding members Aaron Cherry, Andrei Radu, and Matt Chenery have pursued the perfect balance of sonic exploration and intricately formed, lyrically-charged psychedelic rock. Complete with the addition of bassist Kyle Rowe, Groove Intelligence has amassed an impressive catalog of music since their formation in 2019. Groove Intelligence performs next in NYC at Rockwood Music Hall on January 5th.
