Love From Philly - A New Webathon To Aid Philadelphia Musicians Impacted
By COVID-19
Philadelphia producer Phil Nicolo and musician wellness non-profit 30Amp.org have announced "Love From Philly," a live daily webathon to benefit Philadelphia area artists and musicians impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Filmed at the legendary Studio 4 and livestreamed free on hi-def audio and video a at LoveFromPhilly.com and Nugs.net, Nicolo has assembled a number of prominent local artists to participate, while Philadelphia legends, vocalist Lauren Hart and original gangsta rapper Schoolly D, will co-host. The webathon will raise money via 30amp.org, an award winning Philly-based non-profit which promotes health and wellness for working musicians and their associates, via a call-in number and website. Viewers will be able to donate directly to 30amp's "Cost of Living Fund," which will then award grants to Philadelphia musicians getting hit the hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The premiere webathon will air live tonight, Wednesday, March 18, at 8pm EST, on Nugs.net and Lovefromphilly.live with rebroadcasts available through the "Love From Philly" website. Tonight's debut episode will feature musical guest TrapRabbit in the studio. Additional special guests reporting from around the city will join the webathon throughout the week, including Marc Brownstein (Disco Biscuits), Mondo Cozmo, Christian McBride and Rob Hyman (The Hooters).
"We all have to be vigilant, and do whatever our leaders ask us to do to get through this terrible crisis, but in the darkness we’re hoping to shed some light," says Nicolo, who will limit the operation to ten people all maintaining seven feet of distance, while wearing gloves and face masks.
