Bela Fleck & The Flecktones at The Keswick Theatre 6/3/2016
The original Flecktones together again after a four year break making their third stop outside of Philadelphia in Glenside at The Keswick Theatre, with Bela Fleck on Banjo, Victor Wooten on bass guitar, Roy "Futureman" Wooten on percussion & electronic synths, and Howard Levy on piano/piccolo/harmonica. Impressive display of musicianship and of the overall group sync, a tightness that only men who know each other well can have. The intricacies and skill of the compositions and of the finger-work on the fret-boards is almost un-equaled in most music, Bela and the Flecktones still maintain a unique sound that draws a crowd - a sold out show to be precise. Just a few days ago in Roanoke, Virginia at the Jefferson Center the Grammy award winning artist invited students from the center's music program to watch the band's sound check before their reunion concert on Wednesday night. Bela asked students about their career and encouraged students to ask them questions about the music business and what direction they'd like to pursue. The two-week tour rolls on tonight in Port Chester at the Capitol Theater, then the Lebanon Opera House in NH, Binghamton, Albany, Burlington, Cleveland, Chicago, Kansas City, Boulder and finishes up in Teluride, CO at the Teluride Bluegrass Fest. Welcome back Flecktones!
