Hoagienation Festival - Festival Pier at Penn's Landing 5/27/17
Hall & Oates, Tears for Fears, G. Love and special sauce, Marah, Son Little, In the pocket and more
The first annual Hoagienation Festival sponsored by Dietz & Watson took place on Saturday 5/27 Held and Headlined by Philly's own Hall & Oates, joined by Tears for Fears, G. Love and Special Sauce, Marah, Son Little, In the Pocket and more for a memorial day weekend celebration on the river's edge with the Ben Franklin bridge overlooking the festival and center city Philadelphia towering from behind. With three stages set up at Festival Pier, a myriad of food and drink options with a dozen food trucks, a hoagie eating contest hosted by 94 WIP and Ben Franklin, there was much ground to cover and non-stop music which had fans bouncing stage to stage...yep, it's festival season!
With highs in the low 70s, the weather cooperated quite nicely shading us with a partly cloudy sky. The new setup at Festival Pier catered to the crowd well, ample resources on site provided by Livenation Philadelphia. Headlining the festival, Hall & Oates and Tears for Fears both drew a massive crowd to the stage when they performed, bringing Philly in tight with concertgoers and their big beers(they were 24oz at least) belting out lyrics together to the old tunes they remember like Mad World, Shout, Everybody Wants to Rule the World, Seeds of Love, Maneater, Private Eyes, Sarah Smile, Out of Touch, I Can't Go For that, Rich Girl, She's Gone, Kiss is On My List, and more of the hits from the lates 70s, 80s, and 90s. Check out the photos below from the festival
