Festival Recap: The 2019 Resonance Music and Arts Festival at Cooper's Lake - Slippery Rock, PA 9/19-22
Summer has come and gone, but just before it slipped away we had a chance to attend the 6th annual Resonance Music and Arts Festival at Cooper's Lake in Slippery Rock, PA hosted by Asheville's Papadosio with a slew of Jam, Jamtronica & EDM acts appearing throughout the weekend on six total stages including the VIP stage by the lake. The festival was previously held in Legend Valley, OH and took its new home this year at Cooper's Lake Campground on a 500 acre well-equipped campus to supply and service a busy festival crowd. The four day festival featured acts from all over the country and brought over 80 craft & food vendors to the festival sidelines, where you could find just about everything under the sun to eat. Over the course of the festival, various workshops, yoga sessions, art galleries, installations, and daytime activities took place overlooking the serene view of Cooper's lake while campers buzzed around the lush, woodsy grounds and made themselves at home for the weekend on this gorgeous property ready to take in a weekend full of music and art.
All during the festival one could overhear festival attendees commenting and praising the new site and its facilities...with ample space, running water spigots, a 'town center' with a general store stocked to the gills, but more importantly, it served coffee! Resonance Festival leveraged a large volunteer program this year to assist with production and service, a massively successful effort by all involved servicing needs of the artists, staff, grounds, parking and providing waste management services on the festival campus. Resonance 2019 ran like a well-oiled machine with fluid and on-time stage transitions, artist sit-in and VIP sets. Aside from a 30-minute schedule delay due to heavy rain on Saturday evening before Tipper's twilight set on the main stage, the festival transpired flawlessly in the eyes of any attendee. Happy faces everywhere, big smiles, big hugs, warm days, and cool nights graced the grounds of Resonance. Almost every festival attendee that we chatted with ranked this at the top...quite an impressive job by all involved for an outstanding weekend of music, camping and art. See you in 2020!
