2nd Annual Sensorium Music and Arts Festival at the Ukie Club in Philly 8/25
The Sensorium Music and Arts Festival returns this August 25th with electronic hydro-funk outfit Sunsquabi joining the lineup as the event headliner, with Flamingosis and Baltimore’s Electric Love Machine - known as ELM. These add-ons came after a first wave of announcements that included Daedelus, host-band Tweed, Wax Future, MINKA, Darla, Patrick Richards, Agent Zero, Bad Leather, Digital Frontier, Humandala and many other local and regional bands. This year’s event is being hosted at The Ukie Club on Franklin street in North Philadelphia and features music from noon to 2am on Saturday Aug. 25, and into the hours of Aug. 26.
The one-day SENSORiUM festival is Philly's end of summer bash celebrating the city's thriving diversity in music and arts. This event brings together people from our community to dance, discover new and spectacular music, and be astonished by extra-sensory art installations. Founded in 2017 by Joe Vela, entrepreneur and drummer for Tweed, the SENSORiUM festival celebrates Philadelphia’s thriving diversity in music and arts. The event was thrown in honor of host-band Tweed’s late friend, Suman Addya, who was an inspiration for SENSORiUM events and regularly traveled on the road with Tweed.
“There’s so many festivals and events popping up lately that seem like they're driving for quantity, not quality. SENSORiUM was founded by musicians and cultivated by artists, musicians and independent promoters with the collective goal of sharing music and giving back to the community,” said Sunsquabi’s bassist/synth player Josh Fairman. “We’re looking forward to a killer lineup with bands from all over the country coming together for this experience.”
