Lard Dog is an all-ages comedic experience that takes families on a fun and fantastic musical rollercoaster of quirky absurdism.
Lard Dog & The Band of Shy is an interactive multi-media 6-piece band led by Steve Erdman, (Lard Dog, himself!) Hailing from the fictional planet Belopio, "Lard Dog" and his cast of characters takes families through a hands-on, joyful and careless journey that is sure to engage and delight young minds, while pulling at the strings of humor. Erdman began as a stand-up comedian, primarily for the underground cartoonist community, and eventually began writing for children’s television. Erdman later had the idea to bring music into his routine, specifically of the jazz genre, and began reaching out to friends and artists. Jamie Saft, Curtis Hasselbring, comedian Andy Richter, actor Adam Goldberg, and singer Norah Jones have happily agreed to collaborate with Erdman. His influences range from mid-century cartoonists to Monty Python to television pioneer, Ernie Kovacs.
