Kate Dressed Up Releases debut LP 'In Another Lifetime' at World Cafe Live 9/9/22
Philly folk singer-songwriter, Kate Dressed Up(Katie Miller), released her debut album,'In Another Lifetime' and performed with her band at World Cafe Live Friday night, delivering delightful, full, and fresh music and vocals to the local Philly crowd, celebrating the album's release with a full band. 'In Another Lifetime' features Miller introspectively poking at the universe with delicate, buttery vocals and skillful guitar playing in the quick-driving Ride Home and in songs like Fall, Crash, Land, Fly Along, History & Art and the uplifting Count the Stars. Breaking from the musical mold in the last quarter of the 10-track LP, Miller summons a full-band sound in How Could I Have Known, with a horn section present in the recording. The Fountain features Vie Karaitis performing a powerful duet with Miller and performing on guitar and on the organ.
The LP's title track, In Another Lifetime, the only track on the album to feature Miller on piano mirroring a duet with her resonant vocals, closes the work out with lyrics that subtly probes the listener and finishes off with shimmering echoes. Almost four years in the making, the follow-up to her self-titled 2016 EP, 'In Another Lifetime' is a well-developed, soulful and uplifting mix in harmony with messages of hope and love delivered through masterful songwriting.
