118 North Celebrates One Year Anniversary of Bringing Live Music to Wayne
February 14th, 2019 marks the one year anniversary of the Main Line’s most exciting new live music venue 118 North. Located on North Wayne Ave in Historic downtown Wayne, 118 North has offered a wide range of exciting music events throughout the past year.
Over its first twelve months, 118 North has brought an exciting range of original and tribute musical acts to its intimate and inviting room in Wayne. Bands from as far as Jamaica and as close as down the street have offered the Main line an eclectic and exciting outlet for live music in Wayne. Some of the past year’s highlights at 118 North have included:
Philly rock legends Marah playing to a sold-out rock and roll party at 118 North and naming us “the CBGB’s of the Main Line”, Tommy Conwell walking down our bar during his guitar solo – and accidentally putting his hand into the ceiling fan above the bar! Luckily, no injuries and a full house to help him crowd-surf back to the stage un-scarred.The Skatellites from Jamaica, brought cool reggae and ska vibes to a sold out 118 North, including an encore performance by 64 year old original Skatellites members. Incredibly talented newcomer Molly Martin – a Conestoga High School graduate - now residing in Nashville, bringing her raucous country-rock show to a sold out 118 North. Legendary guitarist Richard Lloyd of the 70s punk/new-wave icons Television – in an intimate solo electric performance at 118 North. Original East Street Band Drummer Vinnie Lopez performing with The Billy Walton Band and bringing the jersey shuffle to 118 North. A bluesy sweat-soaked performance post-2018 Wayne Music Festival performance by original blues rockers The K Floor, nearly tore the roof off the place in June.
