Shakedown Street Beer Festival June 11th 2-7pm

The genesis of the Shakedown Beer Festival is quite simple and rooted in the jamband scene throughout the 80s,90s and 2000s. I have to admit, the first time I ever saw craft beer was at a Phish lot. Many craft beer folks got into craft beer thru the "lot scene" which began to flourish with a mix of 'heady' beers from all over the US, brought to you by your fellow concert goer looking to trade beers or simply experience new flavors. In other words, through their favorite jamband show (i.e. The Grateful Dead, Phish, The Allman Brothers Band, Widespread panic, Umphrey's McGee) fans have come together on the lot over the years to enjoy these brewed flavors and many take their beer quite serious! This includes brand director Andy Farrell of Philly's City Tap House. Andy's first experience with craft was a Samuel Smith Nut Brown 22oz followed quickly by Sierra Nevada Pale Ales on the lot, a common staple before a Phish show. In true Philly Beer Week fashion City Tap House will have an incredible lineup from breweries such as Sierra Nevada Terrapin Beer Co. Captain Lawrence Brewing Company, Fat Head's Brewery Nodding Head Brewery and more.

Tickets for the music lineup are $15. City Tap House will also be offering a tasting package that day for the "heady" beers on draft with a keepsake glass for $45.
