Just Announced: Soulive Returns to Ardmore Music Hall for 2 Nights this November with Special Guests
The legendary soul/funk organ trio Soulive will take over the stage of the Ardmore Music Hall for a two night run on November 8 and 9
Formed by brothers Neal and Alan Evans on organ and drums respectively, and tapping guitar master Eric Krasno, Soulive has continued to make waves in the funk and soul scenes from the late 90s to today, gaining much renown for their ability to lay down the groove and becoming the undeniable leaders of contemporary funk fusion.Their influence can be heard across multiple genres including hip-hop, R&B, Americana and more. Since their formation Soulive has collaborated with the likes of Chaka Khan, Derek Trucks, The Roots, Maceo Parker, and Talib Kweli (just to name a few), as well as recorded an entire album of Beatles covers titled 'Rubber Soulive'.
The outfit has slowed down their touring schedule in recent years to focus on other endeavors - Krasno is currently working on a solo album and Alan has been working more in the studio and with Matador! Soul Sounds; making their return to Ardmore extremely special. 2019 has only been blessed with Bowlive, the group’s multi-night run at the Brooklyn Bowl, and select appearances when the trio can find the time. Adding some funky flair to this run of shows will be a special guest horn section comprised of trombonist Natalie Cressman and saxophonist James Casey of the Trey Anastasio Band.
