STIG Releases Debut Album and Appears with Starbird at Silk City - 10/17
Up and coming progressive jazz/funk band STIG plays with Starbird at Silk City on 10/17. Newly relocated to Asheville NC, these Berklee College of Music educated musicians follow in the footsteps of fellow funky Berklee Alum.
After touring non stop for the past few years, STIG has settled in and immersed themselves in songwriting. The bands highly collaborative debut studio album 'Agreed Upon is out now and available to stream below on Spotify and other streaming services. Their fiery blend of jazz and funk leads to tremendously energetic shows and the album captures the raw energy and musical ability of these young funksters.
'Agreed Upon' spans from the 70’s Bootsy Collins inspired funk of “John Travolta Comes Out”, to the Acid-jazz stylings of “Bring your Snorkel." Their energetic and highly improvised live show stops in Philly next week at Silk City. If you’re a fan of bands like Soulive and Lettuce, be sure to come by early and groove with STIG. This is a funk band certainly on their way up the ranks.
