You can always expect a colorful spectacle when Beck hits your town. Last night the wildly creative artist played his first night at the new wharf-side venue, The Anthem, in Washington DC, the first of 2 sold-out shows in the Capitol. The 47 year old Californian dished out some of the old favorites like Loser, E-Pro, Devil's Haircut and a handful of tunes from his latest and thirteenth album, Colors, which has been well received as an ultra-pop piece of work with an upbeat feel that digests well. Beck's full band with backup singers treated fans to the Prince cover 'Raspberry Beret' and the old Kool Keith cover, 'Lovely Lady', concluding the the show with a 5-song encore capped off by the hit, Where it's At. Beck's extensive Spring tour continues on to Charlotte, Atlanta, new Orleans, Birmingham, Nashville before hopping over the pond to Dublin and Belfast, stopping in the UK, Paris, Brussles, Hamburg, Denmark and Stockholm before swinging back this way in July to continue on in Detroit, Toronto, Montreal and more Canadian and US dates taking the tour through September, he's a busy guy!
