Funk n' Bowl Season III Kicks Off at North Bowl Philly
Last night in Philly at North Bowl for the kick-off of Funk 'N Bowl Season III returning with the jams, curated by Dopapod's keyboard wiz Eli Winderman, featuring a rotating cast of local, regional, and national talent. The first session of Season III featured the skilled licks of New Mastersounds guitarist Eddie Roberts, joined by Muscle Tough's Jonathan Colman and Joe Baldacci supplying the bass and beats. Adding flavor and style was Octave Cat's Charlie Patierno on percussion, with Korey Riker of John Legend on Sax. The band played two full sets carving through some funk classics and covers with a jazz approach, trading solos back and forth. Towards the end of the show, each band member was given a feathered Mardi Gras mask to wear, joining several of the fans in the audience to help celebrate the upcoming festival. Listen to both sets and check out photos & the video clip below.
