Sedona, Arizona-based artist decker. will headline Bourbon & Branch in Philadelphia on Friday, November 2. The show is part of a cross-country U.S. tour in support of his new studio album, 'Born To Wake Up.' The ten-track collection is out now on Royal Potato Family.
Calling his music "psychedelic desert folk", decker. draws inspiration directly from the vortexes of the red rock mountains and canyons where he resides in Sedona, Arizona. 'Born To Wake Up' was written while wandering those lands following the passing of his grandmother who helped to raise him. It finds the singer/songwriter maturing in his artistic viewpoint from previous work, exploring themes of optimism and struggle, birth and passing, reality and illusion across a range of songs like "Burnin Grass," "The Matador" and "Awake."
"This album is all about going where the flow leads," says decker. "For the last ten years, I've pushed hard, but I realized that there's more reward in letting go, in being open to the where songs and life's currents naturally lead you. It was an important lesson for me to learn, both as an artist and as a human being."
