God Street Wine at Ardmore Music Hall 8/2
NYC jam rockers God Street Wine are currently making their way and stopping at the City Winery music venues in Chicago, Washington DC, and here in the area last night at Ardmore Music Hall, bringing out fans from back in the day who ate the music right up. GSW delivered an acoustic set of tunes for set 1 followed by a more electric set 2 with a mix of oldies, covers and some new songs. This was the first time that the band has played in Philadelphia since playing at St. Joseph's University on 4/25/98, so all of us 70s and 80s kids were thrilled to have them back in town...hopefully it won't be so long until next time.
During some banter in the second set, guitar player Lo Faber gave some inspirational words on music:
'This really felt like an old-time God Street Wine Show. I just gotta say, you know it's such a cliche, live music is so great because it's a collaboration, the performers and audience, and the people who are there, every one who comes makes it part of the event and changes the vibe of the room a little bit. That's why no two shows are alike and there's just nothing like it in the world.'
The band continues on to Boston this weekend to and then finish up their tour on Sunday at the City Winery in NYC. Check out photos, video, audio and setlist from the show below.
