Nipper The Band to headline Philly's La Peg joined by Die Cast Theater collective and Dumb Genius Friday 8/19
Coming up on Friday August 19th, Nipper The Band takes over Columbus Boulevard's La Peg joined by the Die Cast Theater Collective and Nipper's Jeffrey Glen as Dumb Genius on the decks to close out the night. Nipper was born when Paul LoPresti and Jeffrey Glenn met through mutual friends in the South Jersey music scene. Their collaboration yielded first single "Charlatans," which the duo promoted with their first public performance at the Beardfest 2017 open mic. Beardfest, founded by Paul's cousin and Out of the Beardspace guitarist Zach LoPresti, and the accessibility and richness of the rest of the vibrant South Jersey music scene inspired Nipper to expand its lineup and redouble efforts to find spaces to perform.
Nipper the Band resolves the tension between art music and commercial music with a classically influenced blend of electronics and theatrical progressive pop. All South Jersey transplants to Philadelphia, Nipper has built an enthusiastic community by valuing collaboration and audience involvement. In summer 2017 they added drummer Chris Sannino, another South Jersey native, and began playing shows in the Philadelphia area and have performed for packed crowds at Connie's Ric-Rac, J.R's, Silk City, The Music Ward, and have joined the cast at regional festivals like Beardfest and Electric Halloween.
