Rock and Roll Playhouse Presents: Music of the Grateful Dead for Kids hosted by Ardmore Music Hall with
Tom Hamilton & Friends January 28th, 2018
The Rock and Roll Playhouse has joined up with Ardmore Music Hall to bring a series of special family music concerts to the area, paralleling some of the great acts in the area that come through AMH to join in the fun. This past weekend RRPH held a sold-out event featuring Tom Hamilton joined by Raina Mullen on acoustic guitar, Mike Greenfield on drums and Tom's brother Jim Hamilton on bass, who previously played in Tom's band, American Babies. The event theme this time around was music of the Grateful Dead, a catalog of music which Hamilton and his brother are no stranger to so we know this would be a treat. Fans enjoyed classic tunes from the quartet, playful enough for both the kids and the seasoned Dead fans in the room. Ardmore Music Hall is somewhat of a Grateful Dead headquarters here in the metro area, as locals and familiar faces poured in to the local night spot they often frequented to see live music. During the performance, the tiny deadheads were treated to gifts like glow-stick bracelets and necklaces, streamers, and the kids got to participate in group parachute fun with everyone as Hamilton and friends played a fun version of the hit, Eyes of The World.
Rock and Roll Playhouse returns to AMH on February 25th for a sold-out show featuring Phish for Kids with Phish tribute act Uncle Ebenezer, then again on March 18th for a special Sunday morning for the Music of David Bowie, tickets to this show available here: https://www.ardmoremusic.com/event/1634610
