Miss Cantaloupe Releases Debut Music Video: Paradigm Shift
Miss Cantaloupe is a local troupe of minstrels performing wild theatrics and storytelling with their music where no two shows are alike. Dreamed up by singer/song-writer and front-woman Christina Klaproth, the band features Philadelphia members of Tutlie, The Underwater Sounds & Out of the Beardspace. Their performances are a delightful break from the norm with ornate costumes, storytelling, fantasy folklore and are simply a treat to the unsuspecting audience who knows not what whimsical folklore is to come their way.
Their recent video release, Paradigm Shift, has been a few years in the making with lots of preparation and diligence at the guidance of director & cinematographer James O'brien III of Arsenal Media Works in South Philadelphia. Paradigm Shift is a colorful, retro-rocker of a tune which takes place on the streets and in the woods of Philadelphia, taking us along the ride with the main character. The catchy and fun video features Klaproth portraying a young girl bored with the grind of the city who decides to take a cruise on her Vespa to the outskirts of town. Down the road she is met and tempted by the nymphs at the at the edge of the woods where she swallows a strange and magical potion offered to her, which inevitably takes her away from it all and has her walking deeper into the woods. On her tree-full journey away from her day-to-day, she encounters a mysterious wizard who takes her in to his cave where, thanks to the potion, she becomes euphorically 'transformed' and now winged like fairy, to be released back to the woods with her friends who join her dancing among the trees and spinning fire, where everything is just fine....paradigm shifting to another time.
