Nipper Rebrand as "Proper Shapes" and Release Music Video for Single "Valentine"
It's not every day that a band revamps their sound and style, or even their name... because after all, there is a lot in a name. Philadelphia quartet, Nipper The Band, has done just that, and have rebranded themselves & their sound, releasing a fresh new video, putting the band on display to get reacquainted with the public. Under their new moniker, Proper Shapes plans to release new music late Spring with local performances and festival dates to come.
Proper Shapes, under original name Nipper the Band, was born when Paul LoPresti and Jeffrey Glenn met through mutual friends in the South Jersey music scene. Their collaboration yielded their first single "Charlatans" which the duo promoted with their first public performance at South Jersey festival Beardfest 2017 open mic. In summer 2017 they added drummer Chris Sannino, another South Jersey native, and began playing shows in the Philadelphia area.
Proper Shapes delivers a classically influenced blend of art rock and theatrical progressive pop. All South Jersey transplants to Philadelphia, Proper Shapes has built an enthusiastic community by valuing collaboration and artistic connection across disciplines and genres, not new wave...but 'now wave'. The band comments, "The new name resonates with all of us on many levels, and we will continue to enjoy your interpretations of its meanings. Over the next few days our social media and streaming accounts will reflect the change. To our supporters who helped grow our community under the original name: we will always be grateful, and we are proud of what we built as Nipper the Band."
