New BeesWax (Lotus, Wax Future project) single out today 4/24/23
Philadelphia based group BeesWax are Jesse Miller (Lotus, Octave Cat), Connor Hansell (Wax Future), Keith Wadsworth (Wax Future, 5AM Trio), Aron Harel (Zone Drums, 5AM Trio). The “Smoke & Mirrors” single released today follows the 2021 album Royal Jelly and the 2019 EP BeesWax. “Certified Juice” from Royal Jelly has been a breakout track for the project amassing over 370k plays on Spotify.
"Last fall we were contacted by a French label asking us to submit a BeesWax recording for a new weekly series they were launching. Jesse sketched out a swinging beat with a thick synth bass line and acid TB-303 riff. Connor went in on vocals that matched the swagger of the beat. Aaron and Keith added percussion and guitar and we had a track ready to go for the label. But, in the few weeks between the initial email the label had ceased releasing music. What to do? We sat on “Smoke & Mirrors” for a while, but with the days getting longer and the temperatures creeping up it seemed like the right time to release this celebratory dance track."
