Summer has come and gone, but just before it slipped away we had a chance to attend the 2nd annual Karnival of the Arts Music and Arts Festival at the Ukrainian Homestead in Lehighton, PA, hosted by Kollective Grounds. The carnival-themed music festival hosted a slew of Rock, Folk, Psychedelic, Funk, Future funk, jazz, Jam, Trance Fusion, EDM, Punk, and Hip-Hop & DJ acts acts appearing throughout the weekend on three stages, including a stage for 'tweener' sets while the main stage prepared for incoming bands. The four day festival featured acts from all over the east coast area and brought over 25 craft & food vendors to the festival sidelines. Joining the festival for the weekend was the fire-spinning troupe from Tamed Flame Productions, providing endless visual entertainment near the stages.
Over the course of the festival, various workshops, kids activities, art galleries, installations, and daytime activities took place overlooking the serene view of the Pennsylvania Pocono mountains while campers buzzed around the lush, woodsy grounds and made themselves at home for the weekend ready to take in a weekend full of music, food, art, workshops, swimming, and carnival games.
Karnival of the Arts leveraged a large volunteer program to assist with production and service, a massively successful effort by all involved catering to the wants and needs of the festival goers, artists, staff, grounds, parking, and providing waste management services on the festival campus. Run by seasoned, veteran staff of volunteers, the festival appeared to run smoothly with fluid and on-time stage transitions, artist/flow performances, and VIP sets. Throughout the weekend we saw happy faces, big smiles, warm days, and cool starry nights grace the grounds of Karnival of The Arts. Check out the daily photos and videos from the festival below.
