Anthrax closed out the US leg of their 40th Anniversary Tour at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on Sunday night. Opening with the title track from 1987's classic "Among the Living", the band delivered a blistering set of fan favorites which focused primarily on their first 5 albums. The band were in top form with guitarists Scott Ian dealing out skull crushing riffs and Jonathan Donais complimenting with screaming leads, while the indomitable rhythm section of Charlie Benante and Frank Bello brought a seismic amount of low end. Singer Joey Belladonna was in top form, commanding the audience from start to finish while showcasing his incredible vocal range during "Metal Thrashing Mad", "Caught in a Mosh", "Keep it in the Family" and "In the End". The surprise of the night was hearing Belladonna take lead on 1993's "Only" from 'The Sound of White Noise' which was originally sung by John Bush, who fronted the band from 1992-2005. The night finished up with a rousing version of "Indians" which stirred the crowd into a frenzy and left the sweaty masses buzzing. Anthrax play one last US show in September before a European run which runs October through early November
