Snacktime Releases Stunning Version of 'God Only Knows', a Tribute to Brian Wilson and D'Angelo

Soul-funk-alternative band SNACKTIME is paying homage to legends Brian Wilson and D’Angelo with a stunning cover of “God Only Knows,” out today. After teasing the song on social media following D’Angelo’s passing, the band was met with overwhelming love from fans; they knew they had to share their passion for both Wilson and D’Angelo and release the full track on streaming platforms. The music video premiered at FLOOD this morning.
The bold take on the classic track allows the band’s vocals to blend together for a heavenly performance. Reimagining the song in the style of D’Angelo, SNACKTIME blends their signature neo-soul sound with the poignance of the original for a simmering instrumental ending. “God Only Knows” is available on all digital streaming platforms today.
Speaking on the inspiration of the cover, the band shares, “When Brian Wilson passed away, we instantly felt the need to show our ultimate appreciation for his genius and the gifts he bestowed upon the world. We took one of our favorite songs, and put it through the lens of our north star, D’Angelo. With the track done and slated to be uploaded, our hero sadly left this world. We will feel the crater of both legends’ absences forever. We will try our best to honor them both with our version of the inimitable “God Only Knows.” The verse will reverberate in our hearts forever; ‘if you should ever leave me, life would still go on, believe me, the world would do nothing to me, then what good would living do me?’”

SNACKTIME also announced their third annual New Year’s Eve headlining show at Brooklyn Bowl in Philadelphia.
