Day 3: Saturday 7/27 Right at noon we found Star Kitchen on the Peach stage starting a lovely third day of the festival off with, well...the Bill Withers hit Lovely Day along with a funky version of the Clapton hit, After Midnight, and even Prince's cover, Kiss, sang by drummer Marlon Lewis. We then trucked up the hill to find a huge crowd for Ghost Light's afternoon set on the water park's Mushroom stage. Back on the Peach main stage, we returned to hear the funky sounds of Lettuce, followed by Greensky Bluegrass, and by Saturday main-stage headliner, Trey Anastasio Band, who delivered two stellar sets of Phish and solo project favorites, unleashing his energy on the crowd as he does. Tipping the night off, Joe Russo's Almost Dead closed out Day 3 and took is into the late-night with some of our favorite Grateful Dead jams.

Day 4 - Sunday 7/28 On the final day of the festival, Yonder Mountain String Band kicked the day off with some good ole' afternoon stringin' followed by The First Inaugural Peach Guitar Pull, a special event which displayed some of the popular guitarists on the scene right now, hosted by Scott Sharrard, featuring Samantha Fish, Steve Kimock, Rob Compa of Dopapod, Stanley Jordan & Jake Cinninger of Umphrey's McGee. The Marcus King Band took the stage afterwards with a powerful, rocking set of originals and covers, with King showing his prowess on the 6-string to the afternoon crowd. Next up was Warren Haynes & Grace Potter, who delicately went through some of Haynes's & Potter's songs sprinkled with some fun familiar ones, opening up with the Fleetwood Mac hit, Gold Dust Woman, and Blind Faith's Can't Find My way Home, Led Zeppelin's Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, and The Band's I shall be released. The song duo were ultimately joined to close their set out by special guest Ron Holloway on saxophone for the Allman Brothers Band fan favorite, Soulshine, which always brings smiles to the Sunday crowd, including yours truly.
Last, but definitely not least on the list of performances for the weekend was an excellent two sets from Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh & Friends, with members of Midnight North, featuring Grahame Lesh on guitar and miss Elliott Peck on vocals, pianist Holly Bowling of Ghost Light, Grammy Award-winning drummer John Molo, and famed jazz guitarist John Scofield to close out the day of music, and the festival as a whole. After taking the stage with a rocking version of Cream's Sunshine of Your Love and later Traffic's The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys, the band treated fans to two sets of covers and Grateful Dead classics, including Just a Little Light, Bird Song, Viola Lee Blues, Playing in the Band, St. Stephen, Unbroken Chain, Morning Dew and Uncle John's Band.
Just as the past seven years before it, the Peach Music Festival proves to always be a fantastic weekend with an consistently amazing music lineup for folk, jam, and funk fans alike where you'll always find friends, colleagues, and acquaintances present from all over the country. We'd like to give a very warm thanks to Live Nation Philadelphia and Montage Mountain for having 215music out to cover this wonderful event in its eighth year. See you next year!
