Last night, the Icelandic indie-folk band Of Monsters and Men brought their Mouse Parade Tour to Philly, a packed house of attendees to boot. The icons that defined a generation with songs like “Dirty Paws” and “Little Talks” in the 2010s are back from a hiatus, reuniting with their new album All Is Love and Pain in the Mouse Parade, which was released just last month. The first track off the album “Television Love” opened the set with an ethereal melancholy delight that OMAM crafts so well, followed by “Dream Team” and “King and Lionheart.”
The band intertwined a good number of recognizable tunes and new material, keeping the set fresh and not bogged down by the past, allowing songs like “Tuna in a Can” and “Ordinary Creature” to shine while the hits rallied the crowd with nostalgia. A moody and joyful terrain was summoned at The Met, and The Mouse Parade Tour will continue to march on to cities like Chicago and Nashville.
