Kassa Overall's CREAM in Philly at Solar Myth 9/3/2025

Tuesday night in south Philly at Solar Myth, we caught up with Grammy-nominated and Doris Duke Artist Award winner Kassa Overall, who kicked off his tour here in Philly to promote his new album, CREAM, which releases next Friday 9/12. Throughout the instrumental performance, Overall paid homage to the twin passions of his youth - hip-hop and jazz drumming, delivering fresh, experimental, avant-garde takes on hip-hop classics from The Notorious B.I.G, Wu-Tang Clan, Dr. Dre, A Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets, and Juvenile, performing the new album in full for the first time, here in Philly. Overall continues on his extensive tour through October and will perform dates in Japan, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, Czech Republic, and Italy. See the rest of the tour dates here.
