Fishbone to Release 'Stockholm Syndrome', performing at Fillmore Philly 6/13

Los Angeles punk-ska-funk trailblazers Fishbone are set to release their highly anticipated ninth studio album, Stockholm Syndrome, on June 27. This marks the band's first full-length LP in nearly two decades, delivering their signature high-energy sound with sharp social commentary. In a celebration of their enduring influence and future direction, Fishbone appeared at the Grammy Museum on May 27 for a standing-room-only event featuring an intimate conversation with Emmy Award-winning comedian and cultural commentator W. Kamau Bell, watch below. The discussion delved into the band’s storied history, cultural impact, and continuing legacy as they embrace new members and forge ahead with fresh material. The evening also included a powerful live performance.
Fishbone has paved the way for the album with the release of tracks like “Last Call in America,” co-written by original members Christopher Dowd and Walter “Dirty Walt” Kibby and featuring the legendary George Clinton, and “Racist Piece of Shit” (aka “RxPxOxS”), a searing critique of global racism that underscores Fishbone’s fearless engagement with political and social issues.
Stockholm Syndrome is filled with tracks that provoke thought as much as make you want to get up and dance. The album is produced by Fishbone, Aryon Davis, and Chris McGrew, with mixing by Cameron Webb. The CD version includes a bonus track titled “My God Is Better Than You're Gawd.”
In anticipation of the album's release, Fishbone recently wrapped up a European tour playing to capacity crowds. They will hit the road this summer across the U.S. as part of Less Than Jake’s Summer Circus Tour kicking off June 7, and will also appear at select dates on the Vans Warped Tour 2025, including stops in Washington, D.C., and Long Beach, CA.
Despite lineup shifts over the years, Fishbone’s spirit and fire remain unwavering. The current lineup features frontman Angelo Moore (vocals, saxophones), Christopher Dowd (keyboards, trombone, vocals), James Jones (bass), Hassan Hurd (drums), John “JS” Williams II (trumpet, vocals), and Tracey “Spacey T” Singleton (guitar). This incarnation signals not just the continuation but a bold reinvigoration of Fishbone’s legendary legacy. Grab tickets for The Fillmore Philly show on Friday 6/13 HERE.
